منذ أن نزل المهاجرون الليبيون مصر سنة 1924م، وهم يفكرون في مصير بلادهم  ... وكثيراً ما حاولوا تكوين لجنة او جمعية للدفاع عن أرض الوطن ضد الاحتلال الايطالى. ومن الشخصيات المرموقة التي تعاطت مع حركة الجهاد في القطر المصري ضد   الاحتلال الايطالى الشيخ عمر على ابراهيم غويله الذى كان ممثلا عن اللجنة الطرابلسية  وأميناً أولاً  بالهيئة التنفيذية فيها برئاسة السيد الفيتوري السويحلي ونائبه مفتي الديار الليبية الشيخ الطاهر الزاوى.  وتأتى اهمية هذه الورقة البحثية في تسليط الضوء على دور عمر على ابراهيم غويله فلي نضاله مع رفاقه الليبين فى دولة مصر  ضد الاحتلال الايطالى وأيضا في الدور الذى بذله من خلال اللجنة الطرابلسية  في الحركة الوطنية  بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية  فى فترة الادارة البريطانية والفرنسية فى ليبيا حتى تنال البلاد استقلالها والوحدة. وترتكز هذه الورقة على محورين هما:

1- دور الشيخ عمر على ابراهيم غويله فى المهجر (دولة مصر)

2 – جهود الشيخ عمر على ابراهيم غويله فى الحركة الوطنية  والنضال السياسى بعد الحرب العالمية  حتى نهاية العهد الملكى .
